Key Microsoft 365 terms used throughout the course.
Active users
The common Microsoft 365 admin center page for reviewing user accounts.
Entra
Microsoft’s identity and access administration platform for directory users, groups, sign-in context, and related identity controls.
Exchange admin center
The admin portal used for mailbox, recipient, mail flow, and message trace work.
Global Reader
A read-only cross-service role used to view settings and administrative information across Microsoft 365.
Group
A collection of users or objects used for membership, access, and sometimes licensing or collaboration.
License
The product entitlement that enables a user to use Microsoft 365 services, often with multiple apps and services inside it.
Mailbox
The Exchange object used to send and receive email.
Message trace
An Exchange tool for investigating what happened to an email message.
OneDrive
An individual user’s business file storage in Microsoft 365.
SharePoint
The Microsoft 365 platform used for sites, team content, document collaboration, and many file-sharing scenarios.
Teams admin center
The admin portal used for Teams objects, policies, and collaboration administration.
User principal name (UPN)
The sign-in style account name for a Microsoft 365 user, often formatted like an email address.
